My track record is top notch and delivers results. Within one year of employment, I am able to take my organization to new heights, as is evident by the multiple awards I have received at each place of employment. My first year as a journalist, I was named the U.S. Army Forces Command Civilian Journalist of the Year, and I received that title four years in a row. When I was promoted to the Community Relations Officer position, I helped our team take first place in the Army Installation Management Agency’s Community Relations Event category.

After relocating, I broadened my skills and joined an NBC affiliate as a promotions producer. Again, within one year, my products were awarded first place—this time as Best of Show in the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters Awards. I relocated again, and stayed dedicated to NBC in the Las Vegas market. There, I was awarded the best Overall News Promotion in the Las Vegas Electronic Media Awards.

I have returned to Army public affairs because my passion is telling our Soldiers’ stories. I am now the Command Information Officer at U.S. Army Garrison Benelux in Belgium. Our office has been recognized by the Department of the Army as having the best Command Information Plan, the best Community Relations Program and the best Special Achievement in Print Media in the entire Army. Additionally our Command Information Plan went on to win a Department of Defense Thomas Jefferson Award. For a unit of our size, these awards and our continuous dedication to telling the Benelux story have put us on the map.

These awards demonstrate the passion I have for my team, for my work ethic, for communicating my organization’s strategic communications message. It’s not about me. It’s about telling our story, and that’s what I strive to do.
