Christie is the Chief of Command Information for III Corps and Fort Hood Public Affairs. She manages all internal communication tools for III Corps and Fort Hood, ensuring both the corps and garrison commanders’ messages reach the Soldiers, Families and civilians of Fort Hood. These tools include the Fort Hood Sentinel (DoD’s #1 newspaper two years running), FortHoodRadio.com, Fort Hood TV, the Fort Hood website and Fort Hood’s social media sites (facebook, twitter, YouTube and Flickr)

Christie’s goal is to settle in Las Vegas, Nev., and she is seeking a position in government public affairs in the area.

She has worked as a Command Information Officer, Community Relations Officer, Deputy Media Relations Officer and Strategic Communications Officer for FORSCOM, IMCOM and MEDCOM. She attended the Defense Information School Public Affairs Qualification Course in June 2010 and was the Distinguished Honor Graduate.

In addition to her formal education, she has an intuitive mind and a drive to achieve success, no matter the mission. If a bridge needs to be built, she will find the tools and learn the techniques necessary to make it happen. Along with that drive and passion, she motivates others with positive reinforcement and teamwork.

Christie is an award-winning journalist, producer, photographer and layout artist. Her goal is to help lift her organization to new heights within her first year. Her first year as a journalist, she was named the FORSCOM Civilian Journalist of the Year, and she received that title four years in a row. Most recently, Christie was part of a public affairs shop that was awarded a DoD Thomas Jefferson Award and three first place Department of the Army Keith L. Ware Awards. These awards demonstrate the passion she has for her team, for her work ethic and for communicating her organization’s message.
